Public Input on New Council Initiatives for 2009 and 2010

The public is invited to provide comment, input and review on Council initiatives for 2009, to propose additional 2009 initiatives and initiatives for 2010. Comments will help shape the Council’s legislative agenda and determine how to use its funds in memorandums of agreement with not-for-profit and state agencies for advocacy, capacity building and systems change initiatives.

The Council is already committed to supporting the following 2009 legislative agenda and initiatives and requests comments:

Strengthening controls on using aversives, restraints and seclusion
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and inclusive education
Emergency preparedness
Aging in place in the community

The public is welcome to propose other priorities. The Council will use this input to determine new 2010 initiatives.
